Note: the "~/" in front of the path name is a short-cut way to say "in my home directory. Note, I will continue to use "downloads" as the folder name here, if you chose something else use that wherever I say "downloads". Now set that as your current working directory.
I like to call my download folder "downloads". If you haven't already created a download directory for yourself, do that now. It has links for the Community Edition of IntelliJ IDEA, however if you're installing the Ultimate Edition, these steps still work but I will trust you to substitute URLs and filenames as needed.įirst we need to install "wget" so that we have a way to download IntelliJ.
